Mark Taylor dedicates his practice to complex bankruptcy, bankruptcy litigation and commercial litigation, bringing personalized attention to each client relationship. His diverse experience, which covers multiple sectors, including energy, financial services, real estate, retail and hospitality, and manufacturing, reassures clients of his broad knowledge.
Attracted to the dynamic challenges of bankruptcy law, Mark develops innovative strategies to address the complex situations facing creditors, debtors, committees and trustees in bankruptcy proceedings. While located in Austin, Mark regularly appears in cases throughout Texas, as well as nationally.
Mark has advised lender clients, and represented them in court, in connection with liability management transactions, and lender-on-lender disputes, and is well-versed in the emerging case law in this area.
Mark's influence in the bankruptcy law community is evident through his leadership roles. As a former president of the Austin Bankruptcy Lawyers' Association, he continues to serve as a council member, leveraging his experience and insights to shape the future of the profession.
Mark also served on the Western District of Texas Bankruptcy Court Liaison Committee for several years. Mark's commitment to the field is further demonstrated through his extensive writing and speaking engagements on bankruptcy litigation topics and issues.
Beyond bankruptcy, Mark's advocacy extends to appeals and various commercial litigation matters, including real estate disputes, oil and gas disputes, corporate disputes and breach of contract cases in both federal and state courts. Mark has argued numerous appeals before the Fifth, Ninth and Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeal.
Prior to joining KRCL, Mark was a partner at a national firm and a bankruptcy and civil litigation boutique firm in Austin.
Away from the Office
Outside of the office, Mark enjoys spending time with his wife and their adult children and grandson, traveling, and collecting wine. Mark enjoys cooking and is an avid golfer, if only partially accomplished.
