Michael Desmond is an associate, focusing his practice in banking, financial services, and corporate transactions.
Michael works with lenders, borrowers, and diverse companies both in Texas and throughout the country on complex transactions. His principal practice area involves counseling clients in connection with the full life cycle of asset-backed commercial lending from due diligence to work outs. Additionally, Michael aids clients in M&A transactions to ensure that their interests are protected and potential issues are identified and addressed proactively.
Michael has worked with KRCL throughout his law school career. While at the University of Mississippi, Michael was involved in several organizations, including the Business Law Network and the Honor Council, where he was elected by his classmates to serve as a Student Advocate. There he helped to ensure that the highest standards of fairness and integrity were upheld among the student body. Michael was also a founding member of the University’s Intellectual Property Law Society.
Prior to Law School, Michael spent several years working in the Logistics industry. Michael brings his business acumen and knowledge of the supply chain to bear in informing the services he renders to his clients with efficiency and an eye toward the bottom line.
Away from the Office
Outside of the office, Michael enjoys cooking and watching most major sports. You can usually find him cheering on the Cowboys or the Stars, depending on the time of year. Each summer, he volunteers with his wife at the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Conference in his home state of Mississippi, where he mentors high achieving High School Students in the principles of leadership through service.
