Court Affirms Liability Findings in Poliner Case

United States District Court Judge Jorge Solis, in a 35 page Memorandum Opinion and Order dated March 27, 2006, granted Dr. Lawrence Poliner's Motion for Judgment, affirming the jury's liability finding against Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas and Dr. James Knochel.  The Court reserved its ruling on the damage aspects of the case, but sent the parties back to mediation prior to ruling on damages.  In August of 2004, a federal district court jury awarded Dr. Poliner, a Dallas cardiologist,  the amount of $366 million for malicious medical peer review. Michael Logan and Karin Zaner were lead counsel for Dr. Poliner.
